American Vs. Chinese - When purchasing P-38 and P-51 military can openers you need to make sure they are made in the good ol' USA.

The blade on the P-38 and P-51 can opener is hardened to between 46-52 on the Rockwell C scale.

Chinese can openers have been introduced to the market that have sub-standard heat treat and the blades may fail when the can opener is used.
